Irwin Mitchell is one of a few law firms to provide a diverse range of legal services to businesses and private individuals.
With more than 2600 staff and 300 Partners, we are the 11th largest legal firm in the UK. The company has a group structure with Irwin Mitchell Holdings Limited sitting above Irwin Mitchell LLP and a number of subsidiaries. Our office network covers Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Southampton and Sheffield. Irwin Mitchell Scotland LLP is a separate Scottish legal practice regulated by the Law Society of Scotland and has an office in Glasgow.
In 2012, we became one of the first companies to be approved as an Alternative Business Structure (ABS). Since then we have made seven acquisitions to drive further growth, including the acquisition of private wealth firm Berkeley Law in 2014 and the 2015 merger with Thomas Egger, creating a £250m legal business in 15 locations across the UK.
Recent awards include Claimant Solicitor of the Year at the Rehabilitation First Awards 2014 and Litigation Team of the Year at the Scott and Co Legal Awards 2014.
We were ranked 8th in the 2014 Black Solicitors Network diversity league table and are recognised by Legal Sector Alliance as having the second lowest carbon footprint of any UK law firm. The Irwin Mitchell independent registered charity, the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation (IMCF), has made over £1 million of charitable donations since its formation.
